PC Freezing

I just finished building my firs computer. i turned it on and installed windows and a couple of other things. then the damb thing froze (no mouse, no Ctrl+Alt+Delete) nothing. now when i turn it on, it happens every 10 min. what couyld it be? everything in it is new... oh and heat is NOT a problem


Specs:
P4 2.4 ghts
512 mb RAM
ECS Motherboard

You might want to try loading only the essential hardware to get the thing up and running. Then add one piece at a time. Doing a bare bones install will let you know what hardware item is screwing up, if any.

Faulty RAM could do this as well. memtest is a good little program to help diagnose memory problems.
