splash screen

I disabled my WinXP Splash Screen by editting my BOOT.INI
and now can see what was behind it during start-up. Now
I would like to replace it with my own personal splash
screen (pix of my kids). I've tried renaming the WIN XP
default splash screen from logon.scr to logon2.scr and
replacing it with the picture of my kids, naming the new
photo 'logon.scr'. But the system won't let me. It
keeps renaming the WIN XP default splash screen (the one
I had renamed to logon2.scr)back to logon.scr. How do I
replace the WIN XP splash screen? Thanks.

Here is my link to changing the Y2K splash. It's basically the same.

Cheers!

Welcome to techimo by the way.

The logon.scr is just the default Windows XP screen saver. The splash is different.

Cheers!
