updating BIOS on a7n8x deluxe

hi i thought i updated the BIOS but i guess i didnt. It gave me some "error check sum" error or something like that. How do i figure out what PCB version do i have? theres an update for PCB versions 2.0 and better and theres an update for 1.03,1.04,1.06 and better. I dont know what PCB version i have so any help would be great. Thanks

P.S. sorry for all the topics lol im such a noob. oh and ive read a few articles on how cooling ducts work realyl well. Can anyone clarify this? Also, in your opinion what really makes a cool cpu? i hear of ppl having 9 fans, then i hear of ppl with no case fans and getting 35-40c.

First of all, Get a nice source of light shining directly into your case with the side off, prefereable on it's side(flashlight or something accessable.)
Peer straight into the case at the Model number of the mobo which is right between the second and third pci slot in descending order.
To the right of the model number this is in smaller writing "PCB rev. x.xx" or similar that will tell you the PCB revision, however if you have the later model with the 400mhz fsb on the box then it's the PCB 2.0

I have a PCB 1.04 and a PCB 2.00 model, both I was able to update successfully. Use the asus update utility in windows when updating prefereably incase you screw up and can download it again. It worked for me anyhow as I was cautious because the last board I did had a bad flash

However I wish asus and other companys were to add an MD5 hash and or sfv to their bios updates to verify the data is perfect.
