i would wait for the technology to become refined... with most first version technology, there are bugs and instabilities that plague them.

Give it a few months for second version and third version motherboards to come out, this will help level off the market and bring down prices

Now would not be a good time for 64bit processors in my opinion for several reasons:

1. The prices are too high.

2. Althought the AMD 64 can also work in 32bit mode, you'd just be paying the high price for 64bit processing which won't even be throughly utilized.

3. Getting 64bit drivers for your current hardware may be difficult at this time..

I would just wait a bit til the prices drop and when more support is available...

I agree with DPA. One problem. By the time we get around to those 3rd revision mobo's, PCI-express will be out. That'll throw it all into confusion again. That is, if the new PCI comes out when its supposed to.

well, if you were prepared to shuck the cash for an A64, why not just fire that at something like a 9800Pro for 306 bucks at newegg.com?

even after you upgraded the rest of your system, the video card would still be very up to date.. although i currently am at the point of indecision at whether or not to purchase a 9800 All In Wonder or 9700 All In Wonder... hmmmm
