problems with asus motherboard

Hi I have a asus a7v8x-x motherboard, pc2700 ram 512 mg, 2500xp barton cpu, 5200fx graphics card. The problem is it wont go past 149 on the multiplyer setting, i have tried auto it just hangs constantly, i have it set at 133*14 giving it 1862, is there something i am missing? i have tried every combination the only one that works ok is the one i am using now. 133*14 can u help please its driving me nuts.

Perhaps the cpu is overheating. 60 is hot and some cpu's will start flaking out.

Perhaps your mobo has a setting in the bios for thermo shutdown.

Did you use thermal paste or a preapplied thermal pad on the HFS?
