LMajor hardware probs on laptop

I have a dell c600, 600mhz 512 ram, everything stock, WIN 2000 Pro. Recently I got an error stating that an rq is equal or lesser than and had created a page fault. I shrugged it off thinking it was just a random mishap. Afterwards many more random messages came up, but these were mainly involving system drivers. Now when I try and start it, the thre keyboard lights come on, the left most turns off, it will sit like this for about 10 seconds and jus turn off. It will not even activate the lcd screen to perform post, it will do nothing but turn on those lights. Before it did this I had tried to get rid of the errors by searching for viruses, adware, spyware, checked my startup entries and nothing was abnormal, then pff it won't boot. I can onyl think that there is a hardware prblem, but what in the world could have changed, seeing as everything is saudered in. Any help is greatly appreciated, especially if I can get this thing to be more than a brick.

Thx in advance.

It's going to be a process off elimination. If it has to mem sticks, try poping one out at a time and see it it'll boot.

Ah thank you, you nailed it on the first try, took out the second stick and it booted normally, plus a "system memory has changed" but I understand that. It freaked me out because I know everything is kinda just IN there in a laptop lol. One again Thank You.

Um

Well, I ran into one more snag...The first time i restarted after pulling the second memory stick it ran fine, but i realized i had unplugged my wifi card, so to get the net i had to shutdown and plug it back in. Well shutdown, plugged it in, now witht he card in or out it stops a about 60% on the Windows 2000 boot screen. Is this perhaps because it was dependant on the ram to load all my drivers? Thx in advance.

-edit nevermind, i'm stupid put the ram back in slot 1, not 0 lol-
