2500+ temp questions
I got a 2500+ retail, and partnered it with a Coolermaster X-Dream HSF, fan on full blast. I am now experimenting with overclocking, and currently have it running at 2.2Ghz, aka 3200+. Glancing at MoboMonitor, my CPU is at 45c and mobo is at 33c. I've seen many people with 2500+'s at 3200+ speeds and still be running in the low 30's.
The room temperature is 74f, by the way.
I use ArcticSilver III, but I think I may have too thick of coating on. I know these temps arn't going to kill anything, but does anyone else have a similar setup and have lower temps? Also - any advice?

low 30's is very very unlikely. i can barely get out of the upper 30's when im not doing anything on the processor. [running FaD 100% always] i max out around 45C and bottom out at about 36C
Are your temps at no load, some load, or full load? if at full load, those are perfectly acceptable.
I however do baby my computer quite a bit.. it gets force fed AC on a lapped SLK800 with ceramique and an 80mm fan. any lower and id have to get water cooling or phase change. and i have it overclocked as far as it'll go without dangerously raising my voltage. at which point it is no longer worth it.
your temps certainly seem withstandable.

Trust me, having too much thermal paste will not make THAT much of difference in cooling. Maybe 2~3C max...

Settings:
200mhz fsb on a 10.5x multiplier
Stock voltage
I know these temps arn't going to harm anything, just wondering what I could do to lower them. Will a BIOS update help?
Edit - the temps I gave are under full load, using FaD.

I have the same exact chip. Your temps are fine. Mine runs at about 50C at a full load.

Alright, cool. If I had a floppy drive I would update the BIOS, but since I don't.... Oh well.

Just to put my couple of pennies in.....I just built a box with an Asus A7N8X and a 2500+ oc'd to 3200 and it was at a constant 43c. You won't have a problem whatsoever.

I'm not really worried about it overheating and crashing, it's just the lower the better.
Thanks for the help.
