Kids Redhat 9 and Samba 3.0 install help!!

Ok.. i have a dual Xeon 2.0 GB with 2 GB of ram running Redhat linux.

Now I am using this server for my Samba printer box for approximately 45 shared HP networked printers (all working good).

I am trying to find a document on how to upgrade from Samba 2.x to 3.0 but I am not able to find anything easy to read at all.

Can anyone help? I would really love to update it to Samba 3.0... Samba is the only way to go when you need a good networked printer server on a network.

Thanks.

since this version of Samba just came out you may have no other source of documentation than www.samba.org

Dang.. and there isn't much there. I think the Samba site says to check out your Linux Distro faqs to install the build.

grrrr.....

I am really looking forward to this release since it has Active Directory integration.

I just upgraded to Samba 3. I used the exact same smb.conf file I used with 2.2.7a, and it works fine. The only thing that doesn't work in my config now is "domain admin group," but that is no longer needed. Keep in mind that "3" must be put at the end of things: "/etc/rc.d/init.d/smb3 start," "testparm3," and the samba directory is "Samba3."
