keyboard and electronic questions
I am putting EL wire in my keyboard, and was wondering if i would be able to wire it to the keyboard... if so, what color would the power go to (red yellow white or green?). if not, how do you suggest i get power from my computer to the EL wire? all suggestions and help is appreciated...

I don't know what EL wire is or what it's power requirments are, but the red wire generally is +5 volts and can handle perhaps 300-500 ma. The keyboard likely pulls 100 to 200 ma, leaving anywhere from 100 to 400 ma for your mod.

No, you can't hook that to the keyboard!
You will have to run a cable out of your case to juice that thing! You could think up some nice way to make it not look messy, perhaps some kind of cable wrap to bind the power wires to the keyboard cable in one nice neat bundle.

Sounds like a good plan to me! You might be able to buy an extender cable, but all you really need are two wires, the Yellow (+12 volt) and Black for ground. Assuming the thing runs off of 12 volts.
