Just starting to use Open Office more and more...... very nice. I do like the way SuSe proffesional 8.2 integrated KGpg and the way you can encrypt Open Office documents (among other things) with a couple clicks. Works nicely.
I find myself using it more and more....... although on my work machine I must admit , it's windows, and has Lotus ...... man I wish IBM would port that whole millenium series of apps to Linux......... they are awesome. Or just donate all the code to the Open Office guys

I just installed this last night on a professor's computer. He's been using Word on a Mac for years and years, but was shocked to learn you would have to pay $200 "just for typing and such" to do spreadsheets and type. So I put OpenOffice 1.1 on there, and he's happy as a clam with it. And this was a user that has only used MS Word for anything since about 1993.

| Me too. They speak ill of oo.org, but have a brilliant set of apps which they SHOULD port to Linux. I doubt it will happen soon though, corel ported wordperfect and it was cool, but they didn't do too well out of it.

Keeping my fingers crossed that IBM's master plan for Linux includes Lotus

It does sound silly if they don't port it, they've been putting down oo, and the Lotus suite would have a definate market.
