no modem sound/IE no dial

Why can i not hear my modem dial anymore after re-installing and why does IE not auto dial as it's set up to do? Pete

you need to go to settings/control panel/ modem properties turn the speaker volume on you may also need to go to IE connections/settings and configure your modem there. While in connections set IE to always dial your default connection and that should fix the auto dial problem.

There is a setting in the dial options for turning of the sound to the modem. I haven't used dial-up in quite awhile so I can't tell you exactly where to look. I think IE autodial is another option that you can choose. It seems your dial up properties have changed.

Hi guys. Speaker volume was up full in modem/properties and dial connection is set to dial default connection. So don't know what's wrong. I'll continue to investigate, thanks anyway. Pete
