Is this power supply any good??

This is a Real PC Power 450Watt power supply. It has the dual fan design and here are the specs:

Specifications:
110 - 220V ~ 50 - 60 Hz 8.0/4.0A input
+3.3V @ 14A maximum
+5V @ 30A maximum
+12V @ 18A maximum
-5V @ 0.5A maximum
-12V @ 0.8A maximum
+5Vsb @ 2.0A maximum
M+3.3V and +5V total output shall not exceed 235W
M3.3V, +5V and +12V total power shall not exceed 380W

Here is a link to the PS:

Does this seem like a decent power supply? The specs seem pretty good but I never heard of the company before. Is it worth taking a chance cause it only cost about $25 shipped right now.

Looks OK. Cheap PSU's can be a gamble. Sometimes their good, sometimes their not. I only spent 21 on mine, it works great. The best way to quickly test a PSU is to heft it in your hand. If it feels pretty light, that means it is mostly empty. And how the heck do you slap a 400watt rating on a PSU that is mostly empty? That means it will probably not perform to its rating. The heavier, the better.

looks like a nice power supply to me.
It's got some neat features like dual fans, fan speed controller & wire wrap... Heck, for that price, go for it! Where's the link to buy one?

18Amps seem to be a little light for the +12 volt side.
This PS is supposed to be a 450 watt unit but the spec's indicate that the total will not exceed 380 watts.

IMO, no.

I'm biased though as I only run Antecs and Enermax now and have a couple of spare others like this one:

Omardeth uses and recommends this unit:

On the web page only see the data for the 400W version, so a 380W rating for the combined +3.3, +5, and +12 on a 400W PSU is normal.

On paper it looks good... on paper that is. For $16.50, it sounds too good to be true, and you know what they say about that.
