This is probably an easy one, but those are the ones that are always the hardest to do (for me!)

What I need to do is draw a rectangle using the Rectuangular Marqee Tool, then duplicate that rectangular outline (the marching ants) many times over so I can have identical rectangles, with each rectangle being on its own layer.

How is this done?

Here's a pic of what I'm referring to, notice the bottom right rectangle drawn with the marqee tool...rather than drawing one around every single rectangle there, I need to duplicate it so I can have them all the exact same size.

first, get a definitive size for you marquee. i.e. 60 px X 120px.

Where it says "style" on the selection toolbar, choose "fixed size", define width and height, then click to make first marquee, and then shift+click to make as many as you need.

Ok misread your post, but I will keep the above for anyone else looking to do that.

You can modify what I put above.

1. Make a fixed size marquee.
2. Right click and copy via layer
3. click again on image to recreate your "fixed size" marquee, move it to the next part of the image and "copy via layer"
4. repeat as necessary.
