HDD boots up black screen error

on booting you see HP`s blue page then black screen say`s : insert bootable media in the appropriate drive . its my next door neighbors computer hp 7020 pavilion.

is there a floppy disk in the drive? if so take it out and try again

its not a system disk error. that would be a floppy left in it...it boots up then i get a black screen with it saying insert bootable media in the appropriate drive. _ flashing if that helps.
