I'm actually in the market for a 9600 Pro, but if the 9500 Pro is a better value I might change my mind. I wonder if RobRich will post the specs on these two cards.... (hint hint )

Just hit Anandtech and check out their review of the 9600 Pro.

Good question.

I would guess the 9600 Pro to be faster then the 9500 np, usually anything non pro performs much worse.

The 9500 Pro as far as average game play is about the same as the 9600 Pro, but with Antialiasing and Anisotropic filtering the 9500 Pro would smoke the 9600 Pro.

I would go 9600 Pro before 9500 NonPro, personally. It's a happiness thing. "Look, mine says Pro! It must be better!"

9500pro...definately...flash its bios, unlock the additional 4 rendering pipelines (8 total), overclock, and you've got *almost* a 9700pro...can't do that with the 9600pro.

The newer 9500 Pro's made by ATI no longer can be unlocked.

But you could probally do it with a Sapphire.
