Intel Celeron 2.0 GHz 128K 400MHz FSB mPGA-478, Retail Box

she allready has a great CDburner and pretty good monitor. so what do you guys think. the final price tag was 252.25....$2.52 over budget but i figured it was worth it for 256mb Ram rather than 128

Should work great for internet and word processing.

I'd be pretty amazed if it ran UT at any decent amount of speed and res though.

I need to build something like that for my mom, thinking...

Sweet. I've played Unreal on a Voodoo3 before, but it had it's own memory at least. (and it wouldn't run in anything but 800x600).

yea i ran it mostly at 800X600 but i could hit 1024X678 but it would lag down....800X600 doesnt bother me though. back on subject...what does everyone else think.

How much is the mobo + CPU.

If it is about $100 then I would suggest that you get this instead http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...ion=13-138-231 theres a combo special when you buy a 1800+ with this mobo you get $20 off. Thats $63+$58-$20=$101

Just wondering... why don't you go for an Athlon XP instead? It would probly cost around the same as a Celeron, but you'd get better performance.
