Problem with my monitor

I have a problem with my computer recognizing the monitor. It is a Acer aspire 3000. I installed a new video card and disabled the video jumper on the board but I get nothing. The computer tries to come up but stalls without giving me any beeps. Can anyone help?

Might be that the computer isnt seeing the new video card. Are you getting any output on the screen or is it blank and/or on standby ? Double check the monitor to video card connection and the jumpers ?

Re-enable the onboard card and make sure the boot card is set to the PCI/VGA slot. That's probably not it, but you never know.

I got the same problem. I turn on my computer and it starts up but my monitor doenst turn on. I have replaced my geforce3 with a MX440 8x e-geforce4 and still nothing. I have also tried using a different monitor but nither of them would come on but work with other computers. Please HELP!
