Plextor PX-708a

http://www.plextor.com/english/products/708A.html
I just got this today shipped via fedex.
After losing my other nec usb 2.0 dvd burner in the mail last time
My buddy sent to me putting plenty of insurance on it and kept half and i got the other

This time it actually came and I am loving it all ready, anyone have any insite on the drive if it's a good drive or anything interesting about it.
I'm going to be extensively testing it to make sure all data is written correctly using MD5 hash's and anything else I can test it with and test reading capability's of my dvd player and others before I start using it for a back up and dvd movies, first I will need to go purchase some dvds first tho

I'm just relieved it made it ok this

lol your concerned about a Plextor?

Their all great drives, I have never heard one complaint about anything the company puts out. I envy you....

Well so far no bad burns, However even tho I can't seem to find 8x dvd+r media.
Every thing so far has burnt with out errors with 8x speed(I'm using 4x tdk dvd+r single sided disks.

Your right, I shouldn't be worried, other plextor cd-rw drives I owned work great.
However I was mainly wondering if anyone knew how the sony drives compare to this?
They are supposed to be good as they have the same features with support for dvd-r and dvd+r media. However, I'll just keep burning.

Any suggestions on programs to use?
I've got a bunch like nero 6 ultra, easy cd-dvd creator, 321 studios dvd x copy, pinnacle instant cd dvd suite.

They seem great so far, any suggestions on others, or am I best off with these?
