Gaming PowerColor Radeon 9700Pro TV-OUT problems on Panasonic 36"

I'm having problems with a PowerColor 9700pro AIW connected to a Panasonic TX36-PD30F. Using either SVideo or RCA
connection will get me a strange interference showing repeatably and randomly 10-20 sec. The interferance looks like if
the TV is trying to do some kinda automatic adjustment to the TV signal received, kinda hard to explain I'm afraid...

The question: Is the problem because of the TV or the AIW card?

* Tried an AIW 9000 card (in another machine) with the Panasonic, showing exactly the same problem as the AIW 9700.
* Tried my machine with AIW 9700 on 2 different TVs, without any problems (same with the AIW 9000).
* Tried a portable machine with an S3 gfx board on the Panasonic shows no interferance at all.

The tests were made with the same cables, so it shouldn't be a cable problem. Even tried different/same power outlets,
shouldn't be a grounding problem either.

It feels like the problem could be ATI related, does anyone know of an issue like this, seems like the
AIW and the Panasonic works good separated just not together.

Hope someone have any ideas...

Welcome to TechIMO! Off the bat, update your drivers. Does the TV have any special interference controller program? (Kinda like background noise reduction programs) Try running the cable to a VCR and the VCR to the TV and see what happens.

Try what tony said!
It's probably the TV though.

Thanks alot for your replies!

I've tried running the signal through the VCR, but giving me the same result...

I tried using my old ASUS 6800 GF1 card, this works without the interferance.

Feels kinda unpleasant having a problem like this when I've paid too much money for this TV...
It won the "European Video Awards 2003-2004" eisa-awards as best television .. so it shouldn't be that crappy.

Hopefully I'll be able to try a friends 9800pro card tomorrow or next day to see if this causes the same problem
(i'm afraid it probably will...).

Thanks again for replying.

Well .. it shouldn't be the cards as you said they were working
with other TV sets.! So I don't think it's Ati's drivers or the card itself.

I don't understand why it works with the old Geforce 1 and the S3 card though ...

ATI rage theatre chip controls tv out and dvd etc. Its prolly cause ati uses totally dif way of outputting tv. Its better they way the do it. They try to smooth out the image some. But none the less seems it may have caused compt issues with yer tv.

Yeah, I choosed ATI because of their good TVOUT chipsets. The Geforce TVOUT chipsets aren't even close when comparing...

Though I now start wondering how I should reslove this problem, is there another cable I should use or put the card in some
different mode? I hope the juddering is gone with the 9800 card that I will try later today, else I guess the TV has to go...
