I've asked this question before and never gotten a reply...

When I run my HLDS it's always some weird port, like for example...Right now as im typing this the HLDS port is 48927.

Here's my command line:

C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike\HLDS.exe -game cstrike -port 27015 +maxplayers 24 +map as_tundra

I have the port specified but it changes every time I reopen it. I'm running through a D-Link router and port 27015 is open and accessable.

It's not that I have a problem with people logging in, but the port changes every time and thats really hard for people who want to keep playing on my server if they never know the real port for my server.

Just some clarification.

When you launch the server using the following command
C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike\HLDS.exe -game cstrike -port 27015 +maxplayers 24 +map as_tundra
It launches on a port other than 27015, and clients have to access it using that different port, correct? (ie xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:48927)

Also, when you start it, is there any interesting output on the command prompt? Could you paste everything that it does output here?

When I launch the server using that command my port is NOT 27015. But yes, players can log in using whatever port it selects. I just want it where the port does not change every time so players can add the server to their favorites.

When I start the server it outputs:

Server IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:27015

It says that the port is 27015 but it's not externally atleast.
