old printer won't work right

i just hooked up an okidata microline 380 24 pin printer to my e-machine 500mhz with the intention of printing cheap targets for sighting in my rifles and general fun shooting but it prints the ones that are in pdf files wierd--the horizontal spacing is ok but the vertical seems to be cut in half --makes a circle a short fat oval. Does anyone know if this is a driver problem or just that the printer is not able to deal with pdf(too old)? Got the driver for it off drivers.com and it works for most text files fine just the targets come out goofy

Try copying the pdf pic into some other program and printing it from there. FX open up the pdf so that the target is across the screen. Press "Printscreen". Goto Paint. Goto edit, paste. Resize to your liking and print. If it still comes out wierd its your printer. If not its adobe's fault.

I second that. Try something other than a pdf.
