Colors are messed up!

I've got a problem with showing color on a computer. First of all, this computer is a little older. It's a Pentium 200Mhz, 5 Gb hdd, etc.

The computer never displays the colors RED or GREEN. I'm not sure if this would be a monitor problem, or what? I've updated the driver for the video and stuff, but it's still not working. I've also made sure that the display settings are set to truecolor, etc.
Anyone know what I could do?

I think it is your CRT (cathode ray tube) monitor. If you're good, you can open the monitor case with power OFF first (monitor generates 15K d.c. You can die! ) and check to see if the CRT board on at the end of the electron gun is okay or not.

Only red and green is not perfectly working. If theres a chance, I could even replace that part myself. But if you're not sure what to do, don't do anything. But I'm positively sure that your monitor fails to shoot RED and GREEN color. You still have a warranty correct?

Can you borrow a monitor known to be working right and check.
OR hook the suspect unit up to a 'puter known to be in good working order.(just my $0.03)

Look at the plug on the video cable for bent pins. That may not be your problem but it's worth a look. Also look if there's a bulge just behind the plug molding as there may be wires broken internally. If you don't know how to open the monitor case don't do it. Not everything are bolted down inside there especially the mainboard. It's easy to turn a monitor into a junk pile.
