Best way to watch avi, divx, ogm files on tv?

Which is the best way to watch my .avi, .divx, .ogm files on my tv. I tried to encode them to vcd or svcd, but it just takes way too long. I have all my videos either on disc or my hd, but I just wanted to know what is the best way to watch stuff on my tv. Should I just hook up cables from my tv-out graphics card, or what. I also want the best quality way too.

Thanks so much...

if you've got tv-out capabilities on your vid card i'd highly recommend using that.

A few words of advice...use the built-in windows multi-monitor support instead of the driver multi-monitor (n-view on nvidia cards) as it lends itself to watching movies fullscreen on your tv better.

Also i would recommend using a player called zoom player as it allows you to go fullscreen on you're tv when it looses focus (i.e. you can still do other stuff on your comp, unlike wmp)

There is one...

theres a program called DivX if im not mistaken and it is used for to watch divx format I think all you need is a codec. How about surfing here and look out for the right stuff you need:

http://www.download.com/

So far, i dont have any problems dealing with any sorts of codecs.

The cables should have come with the video card. Youll need audio cables if you want the sound coming from the tv instead of your pc speakers.

Not a clue. Might want to try the people who sold you your pc.

it is probably an s-video out on your vid card. thats what my geforce 4 mx440 has and thats what i use... i also use the driver to clone the desktop onto the tv, then i have it set for automatic full screen so that i can browse the web on my comp while the tv has the movie... unless you have a newer card (unless i am mistaken) the sound will have to come from your computer unless you use a line out from your sound card

It's is just an S-Video output I think.
Check if your T.V. has an S-Video input and buy in radio shack or some place similar and S-Video to S-Video Cable.
