Strange audio connector??? HELP!!!

I've got me a onboard soundcard from C-media Type CMI8738. So far so good haven't got any complaines about it! Now this is my burning question???

I've noticed a strange looking connector for SPDIF and digital I/O sound. I made a little layout from the connector. Inside my computer it's connected directely on my SPDIF-connection on the motherboard.

the outer 5 blocks are outputs and inputs. The middle is emty and doesn't do anything!

I've searched averywhere but til now i can't figure out what kind of connector this is. It's about the size of a S-VHS connector but it's a sound connector. Anyone knows what this rare strange connector is? and where i can buy it???

Please I'm desperate!

motherboard

EDIT: it appears you have given the number off the audio chip. This chip must be on somesort of device, be it a motherboard, laptop, PCI card etc. A make and model of that item will be useful.

That's the mayor problem!

Don't know my MOBO manufacurer. I know that i have an Intel chipset 810. Graphics chipset also by Intel. And my computer sort is a barebone made by PC BOOK. (god may know who that is?) If you need more info i can give it to you but don't ask me the name of the manufacurer. it isn't on the board!!! Already checked it!

If that connector is attached to the motherboard we will need to know the manufacturer and model. They added the connector.

Maybe someone can recognize that connector. I cannot.

I may be crazy, but it looks almost like an S-video connector. This is going to your sound card and not video, correct?

If you boot your computer and then look at the bottom of the screen on the first few screens..you may see a long number...such as

1.00.12.CS1

or

MV85010A.86A.0011.P05

These are called "BIOS strings" and they help identify your motherboard.

when you boot up, see if you see such a number. If you do see it..write it down and post it up and someone here will easily be able to figure out the motherboard.

Its hard to write the number down on one boot unless you try and hit the "pause" on your keyboard...sometimes you have to hit "shift pause"....either that or just write down 4 numbers at a time and reboot several times until you get all the numbers.

Try it.
