DCC with a parallel cable

I want to connect two computers with a parallel cable. One is using XP Home and the other is using XP Pro. I set up the connections and tested it. It connects fine, but I don't know how to transfer files over the connection. Do both of the computers have to be in the same workgroup or is there a way to get around that? It wouldn't really be a problem except that my XP Pro machine is connected to my school's domain and I can't connect to domains with XP Home (if there is a way to do this, let me know.) I don't want to leave the domain on my XP Pro machine in order to join my Home machine's workgroup. I tried that already and it wasn't a good situation. I ended up getting locked out of the domain after I left it.
Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

Thanks

so you have them connected now? you have to enabled file and printer sharing in the properties of the connection.

you had another thread about this. you can just hook up the two computers with a cross over cable. install ipx/spx on both computers. for the computer on the domain, just log directly onto the computer. you may need to create a new user to do that.

Do you mean a parallel printer cable? It would have to be a 'Laplink'-style parallel cable. And if XP offers networking over such a connection, it would have all the same 'domain' restrictions as if the PCs were connected via Ethernet...
