I have removed every file from my shared folder, including hidden files. and it still says i'm sharing 83 files, anyone know what the deal is?

Depending on what version you have, go to Tools > Find Media to Share > Folder List tab, and look to see what folders (directories) on your hard drive are being shared. Whichever ones are checked off, go to those folders and delete the files that are being shared. If you no longer want to share files in those directories, uncheck 'em.

Or simply check the option that says:

Disable sharing of files with other Kazaa users

Simple as that....

i'm only sharing one folder, and there's nothing in it.

Look under options and do as I posted previously and it won't matter if you do have a shared folder...

Won't disabling sharing of the files with other Kazaa users disable your ability to continue downloading? Unless your goal was to discontinue using kazaa, then a complete uninstall should fix that up nicely... am I missing something here?

You could try unsharing the "shared folder" and just make up some bogus folder with no files in it and "share" that one. Wouldn't that solve your problem?

Not at all. Been using Kazaa this way and as it says..

It only disable SHARING, meaning you don't share your data...

i understand all that, but i wouldn't mind sharing some files, i just wanna know what other 83 files i'm supposedly sharing.

could be a glitch, who knows. maybe try uninstalling the app, then run adaware (or similar program) to remove any spyware, then DL and install the program again, setting only the folder you want to share
