Disable scanner & cam wizard?

Ok, on windows ME I would be able to just plug in my sony handy cam, go to my computer, and I would see a removable drive that let me access the memory stick inside the camera, this was great because I did not have to wait. Now with windows XP I plug the camera in, it detects the usb camera, and it takes forever to get all the thumbnails from the camera. this has been driving me up the pharqin wall, is there anyway around this piss poor camera wizard?

I know that I can change it not to view thumbnails, but recently It would detect it and show as a removable drive under my computer, it doesnt do that anymore and just shows the camera under the wizard.
