IE 5.5 Problem

Ahoy there!, hope someone can help me resolve a frustrating problem I have.

Symptom: When I have a IE window open, and I click on a link that opens up a new window (on top of the old one) it freezes the new window before it completes loading. The only way to get out of it is to close the the window. This actually prevents me from using some websites.

I had no problems with this until about a week ago, and have no idea what has caused it.

Self remedies: I have just de-installed IE6.0 and resinstalled 5.5 - Makes no difference. I have even reinstalled Windows 98SE - no fifference.

I use AVG 7.0 antivirus and nothing has been found.

Any advise would be much appreciated
