HP, with Win ME installed, I want to install Win 98. I want ALL the HP crap off the HD. As it is not my puter, I need to know if there is anything I need to know, relavent to the drivers or bios, before or after Fdisk, format, OS installation and driver installation. Any help with this would be appeciated...

Thanks,
JPATH

I would go into the device manager, and identify all the components.Video, sound, ect, then go to http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/eng...e_drivers.html and find the 98 drivers before I fdisk it.

Hopefully it has a burner to save all the info

You can get the drivers off the HP website. They have good support as I worked on 2 HP computers the past week. Both were 500 celeron and 600e celeron. I removed win me and installed win 98se. Use the model no. to search.

No installing the drivers won't add the bloat that they install at the factory "To make you life easier"
