I am trying to hook up my laptop to my Sony DA4ES receiver. Audio does not seem to be a problem, because I can take the single audio out and with a splitter get two RCA ins for the receiver. However, the video out from the laptop is only the monitor out. How do I hook up the monitor out to either the S-Video in or regular video-in of my receiver? Hopefully, there is some cable that can go from the monitor out of my laptop to one of the video-ins on my receiver.
Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, there is no way to convert VGA (15 pin) to sVideo or composite out. You'ld have to have a capable card with an sVideo out or composite out. Don't know if you can do that with a laptop.
Ok, so there is a way . Or is there, (bad link for me)
I just can't see it being practical. it requires a signal processor to convert the signal properly, and the res would probably be capped at 800x600 like many old vid cards (not that a TV can even do that much)
