Star Wars: Jedi Academy

Got bought this game, and boy does it bring back good old memories. Started off great, and it was SO cool that I actually got to see ME, myself, a realy character I made in the game.

Anyway, the old Jedi Outcast game playing exceptionally on any computer you ran it on. Heck, my firends PIII 733/ Geforce 2 played the game a 1024 with more than 40 fps! Well, with this new game (Jedi Academy) my 3200+ and overclocked G4 4400 (300/575mhz) is running terribly.

Anyone have this gaem and got it to run good? This game takes a LOT of resources. Is it a Dx9 game?

It is a heavily modified Quake3 game. So Im not sure if its DX9 or not. I do know that it was laggin on my 9700 when everything was turned to high.

I have a 9800 on a 2500+ barton and it runs great. I also have a 1800+ with a 9500 and it runs well on that. I loved the game with the exception of when I first ran through it the game crashed all the time for the first half of the game. I was strange, its never done it since.

lol

it never crashed here, it works also good on a 800 MHz i think (just not the best graphic setting but it should work) i have 2.2 GHz and a gf2 MX and it works with best quality at 800x600

well at least i'm not alone in my internet grammer

That game is really funky with how it runs. on some slow pcs it seems to work great like creatures pointed out, but thrn sometimes it gets really choppy for some reason on kickin machines. I think as wonderful as the Quake3 engine is its time to set it out to pasture.
