Outdoors Netgear Problems BSoD!!

Argh, I have once again recieved this Blue Screen of Death for like the 15th time already... sorry but this is really starting to get annoying...

I have a Netgear FA311 Network card and I was told to update my drivers which would fix the problem and I was hoping it would but I got the blue screen again! This occurs when I am downloading or uploading for awhile... I am also on Windows XP SP1.

The blue screen displays:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LSS_OR_EQUAL
STOP: 0x000000D1.............and so on
FA312nd5.sys - Address ............and so on

-

Everytime I uninstall the network card or update the drivers it would add the nth time to the name.. like for example it would show on the Device Manager this...
NETGEAR FA311 Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter #5 (being the 5th time installing it)

And I would also have Local Area Connection 13! (changed 13 times I assume also)

I'm wondering if this is why I'm having some sort of conflict, are the previous one's not being removed completely?

Looking around, it seems to be a driver problem. I suggest taking the card out completely, uninstalling the drivers, and try this one.

Namie,

Try osprey4 suggestions or go to Netgears website and search. I know that Fa311 nic card had issues last year when they mistakenly mixed FA311 and Fa312 during production.

I bought a couple for $5 after rebates and worked great by reapplying the correct firmware to the FA311 (i think )

On any case, that must be your problem, card is marked FA311 with a FA312 firmware, thus it thinks it is a FA312 nic card. Hope this help.

BTW, the cards are still wotking great.
