Internet Surfing in a Terminal - How

What is the command that allows me to surt the net from the command line in a terminal window?

not sure what you are trying to do. there is no way to do that that i am aware of. in linux you can use linx to text surf though

Yes, that is what I want to do...text surf that is.

I tried lynx, but wants me to register or soemthing.

hmmmmm lynx works fine for me..... not that i use it that much anyway. I don't recall having to register it though.

Nevermind....I'm stupid.

I was just typing in lynx.

I guess I need to type in lynx google.com or something similar.

lynx, links and w3m are all text based web browsers, links would be my choice.

Same here. Links also functions as a very lightweight X11 browser (so you can see the pictures) Just do:
links -g -driver x url
instead. It works great.
Links is just a better (improved) version of lynx. Similar idea to the nano and pico screen editors.
