Gaming Crazy Keyboard Problem! FRUSTRATING!

Im running Windows XP. It's a good OS, but there's some problems with it. For instance- i have a multimedia keyboard, a Keymaestro 9000. (see www.emprex.com.tw) It was working fine, until after about a week of XP i wanted the multimedia buttons to work. i treid to get them off the floppy, but for some reason it got formatted. Then i stpidly instaleld the wrong drivers off the company's website (above), which caused some minor problems. So, I uninstalled it, and being lazy me, i never got the right ones. After about 3 days of no drivers, I start my computer and BAM, keyboard problem.

This is hard to explain- When i turn on the computer, both the mouse and the keyboard are recognized. When Windows boots, I can use my mouse readily. the SECOND i hit a button on my keyboard, my computer stops taking input from both. Everything is still running, nothing is frozen, but my moues and keyboard act as if they are not plugged in. I looked at the keyboard properties, and it says i have a corrupt or missing driver, and it says I'm using the standard microsofct keyboard driver. I treid to install the correct drivers form the website, and did so successfully, but i guess windows needs a real keyboard device driver for it to work, becasue the problem is the same. Windows odenst offer their generic mouse driver at thier website, so how do i get it? Am i totally wrong, and some else has a solution to the problem??

Or were you just reading and laughing at my mistfortune?? ;-)

Thanks guys!

Have you tried running sfc /scannow? If this is the case where a certain windows XP native driver was overwritten when you installed the wrong driver, SFC will install the correct driver.. Give it a shot..

hrumph

I don't have my XP cd, and it will be a week or so before i can get it. SFC needs the cd to replace broken DLL's. Is there any way i can get a standalone install, or just the driver files? This is urgent! Thanks guys!

u could use the "on screen keyboard" under accesibilty, because then u would use the mouse to press the buttons, see if it still has problems
