HAve you checked that it is switched on in the Display Settings? Available in the control panel or by right clicking on a empty piece of your background and selectig properties

Also check that both cards are working in the device manager in 'System Properties'? Again available in control panel or by holding the windows key down and pressing the 'break' key.

edit: finally found some decent links.
XP compatibility list for dual boot is here

And a decent looking FAQ here

Pretty much anything will work on many monitors as long as you have the proper drivers for the video card. Right now I have this cool setup where my 19" monitor and something like 32" TV are hooked up at the same time. It sounds retarded but I do it so I can play DVDs and do productive computer work at the same time

I've done this on a GeForce 5200, GeForce4 MX something, GeForce2 Ti200 and Radeon 7200 LE. Not one of the GeForce cards I've done this with is listed on that MS support link posted, but they still worked; as long as I had the Nvidia drivers from the website.

As for the check boxes, I'll post pictures.

First we see our primary monitor.

Now here we see our secondary monitor. Note the box asking to extend the desktop to this monitor (great for playing a movie on 1 monitor and doing work on the other).

Now here we see the settings of how I change how my secondary monitor will act (for the movie thing I do, it doesn't need to be changed). I got to this menu by clicking the Nvidia logo in the system tray. I can also get it by going into display properties >> advance >> GeForce FX 5200 >> nView display mode. For my ATI cards it's pretty much the same thing; go to display properties >> advanced then start poking around.

Very nice Shawn. BTW, what proggie do you use to save the active window screen shot?

I haven't advanced past saving a screen shot in Paint, and for my dual monitors, it is a 2.75 MB picture.

To post the active window for a tutorial, etc, I have to resize it , which distorts the print.

Help me out here,please.

Well i had an SiS 305 card that worked for all of 2 min then never again no matter what drivers i used. It does work better if you can stick to the cards in the link above as it tends to avoid strange problems.

To take that shot I just hit print screen on my keyboard.

About this sis card, is that integrated? I don't think I've ever seen sis cards sold in places like best buy.

many cheap generic pci/agp cards use a sis chipset here's an example.

I'm trying to set up a dual display with an integrated grapics card and an Nvidia TNT 2 64 for a friend. Right now when the computer boots, it only recognizes my nvidia. Is there a way to get the computer to recognize my integrated card?

Not really sure about this one but to ask an obvious question is the integrated video switched on in the bios? also check to see if it is a supported chipset on the link above
