Opera 7 slow?

I have a Compaq box with winXP

I installed Opera 7 probably about 8 months or so ago and it was working GREAT at first. and now it is slower than snot. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

No idea why it would slow down, but I recommend downloading and installing the newest non-Java version, 7.20. See if that fixes your speed issues. If not, perhaps a real uninstall and reinstall would cure it.

Did you possibly "tweak" something?

I found before that I turned on sync DNS and that, it was a bad thing for a fast connection

So make sure synchronous DNS is UNchecked

Well I've downloaded the new 7.2 and went through some of the troubleshooting on the other page... so hopefully we'll make some improvement here... it seems to be working faster on some of my normal pages that I surf....so thanks for the suggestions and help!
