What's yer budget?

If its $0, go for AVG available for $0 at www.grisoft.com

If you have like $30-$40 go for NAV

I agree with shahani, if you want to spend some bucks I recommend Norton, since I use it and I havent had any problems with it and it has saved me a couple of times. The best free Antivirus is AVG I agree too, its a really great low budget Antivirus and its great for people that dont want to spend some bucks. HTH

I use eztrust from Computer Associates http://www.my-eTrust.com.

It is $25 for 1 year and does automatic downloads - checks every day. I believe the annual renewal is $10, since that's what they charged me for it a few months ago.

me agree's NAV 2004 rocks except for the drainage in processes it uses with the new always on file scanning it's a pain in the ass when trying to play games.

I did a lot of research into AntiVirus programs a few months back. I posted some links here:

http://www.techimo.com/forum/showthr...threadid=80145

Bottom line -- AVG may be free, but it's not very accurate. Got with Norton.

I'd suggest AVG or AVP (Kaspersky - www.avp.ch)
I've used Kaspersky a lot, and works very well. Far better than Norton (IMO). At the moment I've got the windows box on Grisoft's until I can get another AVP licence.
I haven't really had a chance to test Grisoft yet. But one thing I've noticed is lots of features are disabled in the free version. Its those features you need when a virus is wiping out a system.
