How do you get into a computer to change the settings?

How do you get into a computer to change the settings? My boss brought in his computer from NJ up here to NH he wants to be on the network fine so I hooked it up put it on the network and it runs fine. Now I have changed the address all around on the server and I can not get into the box to change the settings and he can not rember the password and I have no idea because I did not set the thing up. The OS is W2K. I have tried my admin password but it is no longer avalible due to the fact that the server can no longer be found?


I think I put this question in the wrong place sorry.
One more question how can I make a node not able to get online sometimes but not all the time?

Do you mean you cannot logon to his pc? What type of network are you running? Is it a domain or workgroup? Are you using NT4, W2K or what?

Thats right I can not log on to the local computer or the workgroup.

I am using W2K for both the node and the sever.

How did you logon the first time you hooked it up to the network and changed the IP addresses?

He had the password saved so when you logged on you were at the desk top after I hook the computer up to the LAN you would have to ctrl+alt+del and the password was no longer saved. He then started to use the user name and pass word that I gave him.
