Probably a KVM Switch
Keyboard - Video - Mouse
Allows you to use just one keyboard, monitor, and mouse to control multiple PC's.

I have one of those. If you only have 2 computers and don't plan on using it for other computers, I suggest you get a integrated one. Linksys makes a good one. IOGear also makes one but I'm not sure if they're any good. If you don't buy the integrated make sure you get some good video cables so you can run it at high resolutions or you will get terrible picture quality.

Should come with cables.
Ive got two, one with integrated cables and hot key operation and another with removable cables and a switch on the KVM box itself. Use them both daily and havent had any real trouble with either. They can sometimes get a little touchy if you switch out systems a lot.
Am going to try one of the KVMS switches next, sounds a good option as well. |

How often will you be accessing your 2nd PC? I have a PC that I set up as a semi file server that is just being used to back up files to. I rarely need to access the desktop so I setup a TightVNC connection. It's a little sluggish, but about all I need is to check it occasionally. http://www.tightvnc.com/ |

A kvm box might cause some problems. Your screen may flicker, your mouse may not be recognized as it should.
So, unless you really want to use both systems simultaneously and often, I'd go with remote management software as xeroid suggested.

I have a four port linksys that works great. However, good cables are a must and some monitors will still have problems with them I'm told. I have to have a win98 machine for my scanner and fax. Cool to fire it up every now and then. 95,98se, 2000 and xp-pro with one keybrd. Brian
