Need a good DI box for guitar

I'm in the market for a DI box to go from a tube pre-amp (an ancient ADA MP-1 that I've had for years but rarely use) out to my M-Audio Delta 66 balanced in. I'm currently unable to record late at night because my Rivera S120 (all tube amp) is too darn noisey at low levels for mic'ing and doesn't sound great unless I crank it, which I can't do at night of course.

I need something that has a simulated 4X12 cabinet output and I've so far only found the Behringer ULTRA-G GI100. The Ultra-G looks good but unfortunatly it doesn't have a 9 volt adapter input so I'd have to have an adapter thingy dangling out of the battery compartment all the time. Does anyone know of similar devices from other makers, hopefully one that has more features or power options?

This will be a temporary solution until I can save up the down payment on a Line6 PODxt Pro so the cheaper the better (within reason, it still has to sound good).

the whole time i was reading your post my head was going "POD POD POD POD POD POD" haha, but i see that isnt a financial option... behringer is the only company that i came up with, and your GI is the best i came up with too

i also think behringer has something against AC adapters

After a bit more searching I found the Palmer PDI-09. It's similar to the Ultra-G except it's a passive DI instead of active so doesn't even need a battery or phantom power

Just waiting for a reply to my e-mail to find out if there's a dealer in my area.

Have you considered the Line6 GuitarPort? Not as powerful as the PODxt but it's pretty great for the price (about 170 USD). The new software (2.0) gives you a ton of options....

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but I thought I'd mention it...

Hey, thanks crow, I had forgotten all about the GuitarPort. It might be just the thing... I'll check it out.

Another affordable option is the Johnson J-Station. Lotsa amp models, speaker cab simulations, etc. If you download the J-Station software, you can MIDI it up to your computer and set stuff up very simply and quickly, makes it VERY easy to use, and you still have knobs for the "grab factor" like the POD.

If you just need a straightforward DI box with cabinet emulation, though, look into the Hughes and Kettner Red Box.
