playback skipping

I have burned backups of concert dvd's with nero recode and dvdshrink using nero express on kyphermedia dvd+rw media and picture and sound quality is good, but when i playback on my yamakawa 218 stand alone dvd player i get skips and pauses. also when i play the disk on my computer i get read errors with power dvd but it plays fine on WMP.
Could it be the cheap rw media or do Ineed to tweak the settings in nero. trying to get this right on dvd+rw media and not make any dvd+r coasters. any advice will be appreciated.

Kyphermedia CD-R's have worked fine for me but I have heard of issues with DVD media.
Or maybe it could be the Yamaha player.
I have a Denon DVD player that was way to expensive to begin with and is picky about the media played in it.

I used to have problems with Khypermedia DVD-Rs. I bought some on sale recently though and they were rebranded TDKs. The new ones work fine. Don't know about the +Rs though. You can check out the OEM using DVD Decrypter ISO write mode. The manufacturer is listed near the bottom of the window.
