About front USB 2.0................

OK, so I'm trying to answer questions for people & I can't confidently give an answer so I figure somebody here knows for sure. Is it true/false/possible that if a case has front USB ports so long as the mobo is USB 2.0 equipped then the headers on the mobo (the ones for the front ports) will plumb USB 2.0 thru those front ports?? (i.e. Is there anything in the front ports or wiring or plugs going to the mobo header pins that can make or break 2.0 compatibility?) TIA!

The front ports on your case should work fine when attached to your 2.0 capable motherboard.
The best way to make sure would be to connect the ports and plug in a usb 2.0 device. If you are running XP (I believe 2K and NT also) and you plug a 2.0 into a port that will only receive 1.1 you will receive a message notifying you that the device will be slower than rated.
If you dont receive this message, you're good to go.

Well, I believe you need to have USB 2.0 cables going from the port to the motherboard. The ones that come attached to the port in the case might only support 1.1. Someone correct me if im wrong.
