Linux router

took my moms old trusty penny 2 sony and installed
clarkconnect on it. I love all the new options for it! I needed more control that my linksys could not provide!

http://www.clarkconnect.org/

easy to use and set up! has a web interface and updating it is a piece of cake!

i have some questions tho

1. it wants seconds for you too choose what os you want to pic. (clark is the only installed)

2. and it keeps looking for new hardware.

any way to fix this as its slowing the boot up time?

3. i have the services:

Cron
Secure Shell
Snort Intrusion Detection
Suva Services
Syswatch

i was curious if i need Cron?

*edited maybe i should proofread before i post

set the bootloader time out - if grub set it to zero, if lilo something like 20 should be be nice (lilo uses 10'ths of second IIR)

disbable this in the run level you are using - e.g. if in run level 3 remove that call to it, what ever it is called. it should be in /etc/rc3.d/ (or at least /etc/rc<#>.d
