Need help with VIA onboard sound
I have VIA onboard sound with my Biostar M7MKE motherboard. It will NOT work in pure dos mode, rarely works in a DOS box. My biggest concern is that the card does not appear to have an FM synthesizer. There are some .drv files on the CD for th FM synth but they don't work when installed. Does anyone with AC97 sound have an FM synthesizer that works? I don't even know if my onboard sound has one! Does anyone know if the SoundBlaster Live! has an FM synthesizer or if it works in REAL DOS MODE - NOT a windows box?
