Talk How many Operating Systems have you broken?

I've broken a few OS's myself in the past 10 or so years. Mainly by accident of course, but being a power-user I usually ask more of my computer than it wants to give. I do things that normally arent done, and regardless of my system specs I still manage to **looks for very harsh word** rape and/or defile these poor things.

I have literally given DOS strokes, Windows 3.1-98 seizures, and XP multiple nervous breakdowns. I know people who are so damn sure and proud that XP is the ultimate, rock solid, stable operating system. Tell that to 2 days w/ me after a fresh format (from a prior break) and I snapped that OS in 2 to the point where It wont get past a splash screen, if it can even get that far to begin with.

I don't know whether to be proud or upset but for some reason it is a very justifying feeling knowing that I broke Microsoft's rock.

I have literally screwed up many operating systems, but my "favorite" to do so and most frequently screwed is of course Linux. Although out of stupidity I have also screwed some Windows operating systems. The most broken out of them all has been Windows 2000, most of the mistakes has been installing incorrect drivers, changing the registry, doing crap, etc. Linux is so easy to screw up and so hard to fix (at least for me) but I still love it and use it much more than Windows. My next victime is probably Macintosh

*More* Windows XP is not actually rock solid, at least not when doing serious changes,. I have made that operating system suffer, I have for now recieved 5 blue screens of death with XP and 3 with Windows 2000. Windows 95/98 it was regularly without doing any changes sometimes, thats why NTFS is top choice in Windows OS's, but Linux has never given me blue screens (probably does screen dont exist in Linux, or?)

More than my share of both Windows and Linux. Now, I use my OS to get things done. Once I get it tweaked just right I generally leave it alone.

But sometimes the urge to tweak something just onnnnnnne more time hits me hard.

Shhhhh.

If you listen very closely, you can hear Windows XP begging for mercy.

I have broken every OS from Windows 3.1 to Linux. An interesting add on to this question might be how many times you have broken an individual O.S. Thank goodness for ghost. Besides, experimenting is the best way to learn, IMHO.
