Kids Windows XP and Outlook Express 6 frustration!

I had WinME and OE(not sure of the version, possiably 5)-I upgraded the OS to XPHE. I also have Office2K installed. Upon opening OE6 I get a splash screen then the box:
"Outlook Express could not be started. The application was unable to open the Outlook Express message store. Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full. Contact Microsoft support for further assistance. (0x800700E,3)
Clicking OK the brings up another box:
"Outlook Express could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized. Outlook Express may not be installed correctly."
Reading other forums I have tried the following:
1. Replacing the MSOE.DLL file
2. Checking that all files in OE folder were checked as 'Active'
3. Entered 'REGEDIT' and deleted the old OE5, WAB and other files.
4. Unistalled and reinstalled WINXPHE.
5.Downloaded and patched (via MS's site) IE6 SP1.
I am now using Eudora and it's OK, and I can't stand MSOutlook. I really want OE to work. Any info or advise would be helpful. Please reply to this thread or E-Mail me at dstafursky@comcast.net. Thanks to all.
