Can't see added HDD ... GRR!

Fellow Members:

I have forgotten more that I've learned over the years!

On my Primary Channel I added a 60 GB IBM as a slave. It shows on first boot screen (POST) but not in MyComputer ... how come?
Any solutions off hand? It (the IBM) is jumpered as slave. It is not yet formatted nor partitioned. I erased it then removed it from my everyday system.

Thanks!

Brangwen

PS: In CMOS/BIOS: LBA enabled, and Auto Detect.

This is on a Win98se system

It's not going to show up in 'My Computer' until it's a drive.

You need to partition it, at least, to get it to show up.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

EvilRick, I actually did think of that, but .. Will Partition Magic pick it up? That would make the Partition/Format easy ...

Thx.

"Outstanding!"

Thanks ...

Brangwen

PS: I have not been at TechIMO for awhile ... has the "animation" in the icons been discontinued?

You talkin' about the smilies ? If so, then no.

If you're talkin' about the avatars, still no.

BTW . . . what "icons" you talkin' about?

Yes, the animated gifs: Avatars . . .

They used to move about, what happened? Too much bandwith being used?

Hmm, I see yours doing it's thing. Mine is showing E - V - I - L, just like it should.

The smilies are having a good 'ol time to the left of me right now even.

Evil Rick:

On my monitor ... my Avatar is simply sitting there. It used to fade away, then come back. I wonder if some setting was changed on my computer that would cause the "non" animation of my one-time animated gif?!?
