BIOS flashing how to?

i picked up a motherboard and i i keep gettin this "BIOS ROM Checksum error"

after a day or 2 of question asking and what not, its a very good chance the bios is messed up and since i got the motherboard for nothing i want to give the BIOS flashing a shot.

Questions:

What do i need?
How do i do it?
Where to begin?

Thanx

first, did you set the bios up to make the cpu and ram run at the right speeds?

A good rule of thumb . . .

When you purchase a new/used mobo, always set the BIOS to it's "Defaults".

It's no telling what somebody has done to it before you. Also, check and make sure the CMOS jumber is set to the "Normal" position.

Send a message via AIM to Darthgary
(Correct me if I am wrong) I dont think there is a way to flash the BIOS unless it posts or having the hardware and knowledge to do so.You may have to send the board in to get manually flashed.

I got that same message when I first booted my MSI 845E MAX mobo about 8 months ago, I just went over every thing to make sure it was hooked up right, I kept trying to boot it and then like after 12 boots it booted up fine and has ever since then.
