DVD to HDD

I will start out by saying I own the dvds that I would like use....

What I would like to do is copy a few dvd movies to my hard drive so that I can take them with me on my laptop when I travel for business. I have looked at different guides out there that explain how to do that. Most guide have you use several different programs to do this. I am looking for a program where all I have to do is put the dvd in, tell the software what format I want it extracted to (mpg, avi...) and it does everything for me. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

DVD XCopy is the only simple way to rip protected movies.

Does this allow you to rip to you hard drive? My understanding is that DVD XCopy will do dvd to dvd/cd only.

You want DVDDecryptor. It's free. It'll decode and rip to your harddrive. Intervideo WinDVD is a good viewer.

DVDDecryptor will work, but does it include the menu? I thought it didn't. DVDXCopy will include the menu though. Just go through the ripping phase, then go to the files in your temp folder set up for ripping, and remove the files to a new location and cancel the burn. It's real simple and you get all the extras and menus.

Yes, that's one way to do it if you use DVDXCopy Xpress version.

If you have the full version, you can specify the location of the ripped files.

DVDDecryptor is good and free but n3uxf wants an application that is sweet and simple.

DVDDecryptor makes an exact copy of the DVD on the harddrive. I'm assuming here he doesn't want to burn the copied DVD. DVDXCopy will split an original DVD if it's over 4.7GB in two and requires a little work to save those images on the harddrive.

And it doesn't get any easier than DVDDecryptor. One click ripping.
