Pioneer DVR-105 freezes

Hi,
I am having problems with my Pioneer DVR-105 burner. Recently it has begin to freeze my system when I put in a DVD or CD into the drive. Windows XP is detecting the drive and says it is working properly. Everytime I put a CD or DVD in, it freezes and eventually My Computer says it is not responding. I'm not sure exactly what the problem is. I have tried different IDE cables, etc. Any suggestions?

I had one of these burners. They're great. You must use an 80
conductor/40 pin header. ( same as a Hdd cable). What software
are you using?? I used the software that came with the burner.Never had a glitch, Win 98SE, 2K, or XP.
